Relax at this cozy waterfront log cabin with awesome views of Great Creek on Lake Gaston! This lake house has 200 feet of shoreline with a spectacular sunrise view of the lake. Kids can enjoy swimming with minimal boat traffic at your dock with over 8 feet of water. Great Creek contains 1.5 miles of an awesome cove to ski, wakeboard, and fish. You also have a covered dock with guest boat slip/lift. Your boat will be protected from rain and wake chop.
This lake house contains comfortable living spaces and furnishings. It has spectacular views of Great Creek from the large lakeside deck and HUGE sundeck at the dock. There is deep water at the dock and just a few stairs that lead from the house. The home is a beautiful log cabin with full walk-out basement and garage. The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths are on the main level along with a relaxing living area with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the lake. The kitchen and second living area are on the lower level with additional lake views. The upper level has a wraparound deck and the lower level has a patio with rockers, table and chairs, gas grill, swings, and a fire pit! Total square footage is 2,850. High Speed Fiber Internet and Hulu Live/Disney+ streaming services are included.
Bedroom configurations are:
Master King Suite #1 - Main floor large master suite with queen bed, lake views, walk-in closet, and full private bath.
Second bedroom - Main floor guest bedroom has double bed and closet next to full bath.
Third bedroom - Main floor kids bedroom has two bunk beds with lake view located next to full bath.
Main level great room has sofas and chairs with 60" HDTV with Hulu Live and Disney+ streaming services. This room is decorated with lake decor and has expansive views of the lake. The deck spans the width of the home and has a breathtaking sunrise view or for enjoying the shade in the afternoon.
The eat-in kitchen is well equipped with all of the necessities including Keurig coffee maker, dishes, and utensils. Kitchen table allows for seating of up to 10 people and contains another great view of the lake.
Rec Room - Downstairs rec room has 2 queen size sofa beds with 52 inch flat screen HDTV and ping pong table. There is an adjacent garage for extra storage of supplies and lake toys.
There is a lower level covered patio with a table and chairs for picnicking, large gas grill, swings, and a fire pit for enjoying s'mores in the evenings.
There is a short stairway from the house to the covered double boathouse with one slip/lift for renter, HUGE sundeck, and other lake floats, chairs, and life vests for renter enjoyment.
This log cabin is located on Great Creek in the northwest quadrant of Lake Gaston. The home is a 10 minute drive from I-85. Great winery and golf only a few miles away.
The creek is protected from the main lake by a no wake zone and box culvert. That keeps the everyday boat traffic to a minimum. With 1.5 mile run, it makes a perfect spot for slalom skiing and wakeboarding.
There is excellent fishing right from the dock at the home. Crappie, bream, largemouth bass, and catfish are easy to catch from the dock. This property also has a Special Guest Fishing Permit that allows guests to fish from the dock, pier, or shoreline without needing an individual fishing license! The main lake offers a variety of good fishing spots as well.

Summary: A much needed getaway! Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Communication with the host was great. This house offers everything you need or want to have the perfect getaway. The view of the water in the morning on the deck with a cup of coffee was one of my favorites. I would recommend and hope to stay there again.

Summary: We had a great time relaxing on Lake Gaston. The house and boathouse/deck were amazing. This is a quiet location on the lake with very little boat traffic. The kids really enjoyed the paddle boards. Fishing is great in the lake, even from the dock. We would love to come again.

Summary: I cannot say enough good things about Brian's house! I stayed for 5 days with my husband and our two kids, ages 6 and almost 4. We love Lake Gaston and stayed in this same area last year, but that house was booked this time around. I'm so glad that it was, because this house was better in every way. Brian responds quickly to messages and provides all of the information you'll need in advance of your stay. He has thought of everything you'd need for a comfortable stay; so much is provided for guests. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need to cook meals, and it is recently renovated. Linens and plenty of paper products, trash bags, laundry detergent, etc. were provided. There is a paddle board and a kayak you can use, life jackets and pool noodles in the boathouse, plenty of folding chairs and a few lounge chairs. My kids loved swimming off the dock, and the water was easy for them to access by a small set of stairs you could lower into the water (there are also two ladders, but those were trickier for my younger kiddo). The dock's top deck is spacious and has a gate you can use to close it off from the walkway, which we loved because we could put our two dogs up there while we were swimming to prevent them from wandering off. There is also a gate installed at the top of the stairs in the house which would be great for families with babies/toddlers. Our kids loved sleeping in the bunk room, and the beds were all very comfortable. We loved eating dinner on the deck and swinging on the porch swings looking out over the lake in the evenings. We were very fortunate to have perfect weather our entire week, but if it were to rain, there is plenty to do inside - a ping pong table you could unfold in the basement, a chalk wall for kids to doodle on, satellite TV, and wireless internet (the most reliable we've found in any property we've stayed in on LKG). We were all very sad to leave, but we can't wait to book again next summer. Rent this house - you won't regret it!

Summary: The property was perfect- it had everything listed and then some. We brought our own boat and it was very easy to get it in the water and over to the guest slip at the house. We enjoyed use of the grill, large kitchen table, kayak, paddle boards and suntanning on the upper deck. It was a peaceful week with our kids. We would 100% return to this rental again in the future. I would not recommend for families with mobility issues, the stairs are a lot (but not uncommon in Gaston).

Summary: We enjoyed a much needed, relaxing week at this house. The kitchen is a dream and has everything you need, including a plethora of paper products. The house is clean and the owner was very helpful and responds quickly to messages. The outdoor space was incredible, including chairs, fire pit, dock, yard space, etc... we spent the week staring at the lake while sitting beside the bonfire. There is not a lot to do in the town, but we enjoyed relaxing at the house so that didn’t bother us. Overall great week with my husband and 2 teen daughters.
